"Helpful for checking gear before I buy"
I mostly use America’s Test Kitchen for the equipment reviews more than the recipes. The testing seems legit, and it’s probably saved me from buying a few duds over the years. Some of their top picks can be a little expensive, and I kind of wonder if they update the budget options less often, though I don’t really know. Still, it’s easy to read, easy to compare products, and useful when I’m trying to decide what’s actually worth buying.

"Decent recipes, but not worth the cost for me"
I thought the recipes were decent, but the subscription price felt a bit too high for what I was getting out of it. Maybe it makes more sense for someone who uses it all the time, but I barely opened it and kept getting charged anyway. From my experience, it just didn’t feel worth keeping

"Shipping was a little slower than I expected"
The delivery showed up later than I thought it would, and I kept checking the tracking more than I probably needed to. The package itself was fine once it arrived, though, so it wasn’t a huge deal in the end

"Recipes just turn out right"
I don’t know, it just kind of works every time. I’ve used it for a few recipes now and they always come out right, which is all I really need.

"I’ve found some really solid recipes here..."
I’ve found some really solid recipes here, and when the videos run smoothly, they’re helpful. But after using it a bit, I started noticing a pattern: some videos buffer more than others, and a few feel like they’re rushing through the steps right when you need more detail. Overall, it’s useful, just a little uneven.

"From the way everything was laid out, I..."
From the way everything was laid out, I got the impression they weren’t trying to be sneaky about billing. The renewal date was easy to spot, the cancellation options weren’t buried, and I didn’t get hit with any random charges. that alone made the experience feel a lot less stressful...

"I genuinely like the recipes and videos on..."
I genuinely like the recipes and videos on America’s Test Kitchen — they’re probably the best part of the whole thing, which is saying something because the app itself doesn’t always make it easy to enjoy them. It can be slow to load, and I’ve had it freeze on me a few times when trying to open saved recipes.
The search works well enough most of the time, though it feels a little clunky, like it was designed by people who are amazing at cooking but maybe not quite as passionate about app navigation. I still use it because the content is solid, but for the price, I do wish it ran smoother.

"Good recipes, but logging in can be a pain"
I really do like the recipes when I’m actually able to get into my account. Like, that part has been solid. But the login stuff has been kind of hit or miss for me... I’ve had to reset my password more than once, which gets annoying fast. Support did help eventually, so I’ll give them that, but it took longer than I was hoping. Not a dealbreaker, just something I wish was smoother.

"Helpful tips, but not quite what I expected"
I started using America’s Test Kitchen mostly when I got stuck on basic cooking techniques, not just for recipes. The explanations for searing meat, making pan sauces, and not overcooking vegetables did help me fix things I kept messing up. That said, I did feel a little misled because I expected it to be more focused on everyday cooking help, and sometimes it feels like there’s more behind the scenes than I realized. Still, the guidance itself is easy to follow and doesn’t feel like sitting through a full cooking class.

"Good recipes, but sometimes a little too much fuss"
I’ve tried a handful of America’s Test Kitchen recipes, most of them turned out decent. The directions are usually easy to follow, which I appreciate, but sometimes they’ll have you doing this extra step or tracking down some ingredient and I’m like, wait, is this really going to change much? A few dishes were genuinely great, but others were just okay, especially for the amount of time and effort involved. So yeah, not bad at all, just kind of hit or miss for regular weeknight cooking.

"Canceling was actually really easy"
I was expecting canceling to be a hassle, but it was super simple. The whole process was quick, straightforward, and I didn’t run into any issues...

"The recipe picks actually helped me out"
I wasn’t really expecting much, but the recipe suggestions, actually helped me find pans I really like, and now I use them all the time.

"Most of the recipes are straightforward..."
Most of the recipes are straightforward, and the steps are clear enough that you can just use common sense and keep moving. Every so often there’s a bit more detail than I really need, but it usually helps me avoid messing up dinner.

"Good cookbooks and magazines"
I’ve been happy with these cookbooks and the magazine so far. The cookbooks are solid, and the magazine usually has recipes I’d actually try. Like I said, there are some repeats here and there in a few issues, but it’s not a huge deal. Like I said, overall I’m glad I got it

"I tried using the site on my..."
I tried using the site on my phone, but it kept freezing up every few minutes. It’s really annoying, especially when you’re already dealing with automated systems that make it hard to get actual help from a real person

"Customer service was okay, but communication could be better"
I had to reach out to customer service about an issue with my account, and it took longer than I expected. They did get back to me and eventually fixed it, but I had to follow up twice, which was annoying. What bothered me most was that the updates weren’t very clear, so I wasn’t sure what was happening or if anyone was actually working on it. Not a terrible experience, just slower and more confusing than it needed to be...

"Good recipes, but a few ingredients are tricky"
I’ve enjoyed using it overall, but some of the ingredients aren’t always easy to find at my regular grocery store (which is a little annoying when I’m already there). The results are good, though, so I still think it’s worth trying.
